Enrollment Guide for International Students of the International Department of Tianjin Nankai High School

Tianjin Nankai High School, set up in 1904, has cultivated a number of distinguished alumni, including beloved Premier Zhou Enlai and Wen Jiabao. The International Department of the school offers diploma education to foreign junior secondary and senior secondary students and also offers short-term Chinese language training courses.

The International Department of Tianjin Nankai High School has a strong teaching team, which is composed of intermediate and senior teachers, with advanced teachers of Chinese language for foreign students forming the backbone. The Department has a teaching area equipped with advanced multimedia classrooms and a separate, fully equipped living area with comfortable student apartments. We set up a range of levels of Chinese courses and special HSK guide courses according to the students' Chinese language needs, while offering one-term intensive Chinese courses for the students without any Chinese base. Every year our students who take the HSK achieve high scores and are praised by parents and the society. Since we enrolled the first group of foreign students in 1987, many who graduated from our school have been enrolled by highly esteemed universities of China, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Nankai University, Tianjin University and some famous universities of U.S.A., Janpan and South Korea such as University of California, Berkeley, University of Tokyo, Seoul National University, Korea University, Yonsei University and Ewha Women’s University,etc.

We provide all the subjects including Chinese, English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Music, Painting, P.E. and so on in Junior High School and Senior High School. We also provide short term Chinese training with Chinese Calligraphy, Painting and Taiji as the characteristics.

Students will have different levels of Chinese courses according to their Chinese level. The students that have high Chinese level and study hard can apply to study with the Chinese students to experience Nankai culture in mainstream classes.

According to the rules of Chinese government, international students don’t need to take the general examination when graduate from Junior High School or Senior High School. If they can achieve the requirement of our school, they can graduate and get the same Graduation Certificate from Tianjin Educational Committee as the Chinese students. If they want to enter the universities in China, they just need to take the independent exams of the universities themselves which are much easier than the general examination for Chinese students.

There are synchronous online courses offered in the International Department, which are consistent with the offline courses in terms of time and content. Students who are not convenient to come to China can choose online courses and graduate certificates will be issued if they have acceptable attendance and pass the examination.

We enroll: short-term Chinese training students(any age) and students of Junior High School and Senior High School( Grade 7~12)

Application material: Photocopy of the passport of the student, Photocopy of the Visa of the student, Graduation Certificate, Photocopy of the passports of the parents.

Tuition: RMB 22000 per year (for Grade 7~9)

RMB 25000 per year (for Grade 10~12)

If the student stays in school dormitory, boarding fee is RMB 1000 per month (two beds in one room, heating, air-conditioning, drinking machine, teachers in charge for 24 hours)
